Concrete Problems in Toronto? Fast Help Available
Clay soil, freeze-thaw cycling and road salt cause predictable damage. Most of it is repairable for far less than a tear-out.
Freeze-Thaw and Salt Damage
A hundred freeze-thaw cycles a winter plus heavy road salt scale surfaces, crumble edges and corrode rebar from the inside.
We pour 32 MPa air-entrained concrete to CSA A23.1 exposure class C-2 and finish with concrete sealing and waterproofing, the difference between a slab that lasts 30 years and one that fails in 12.
Repair or Replace, and Nobody Will Say
Most homeowners get quoted a full replacement without anyone checking whether the slab could be saved.
About half the driveways called in for replacement can be saved with concrete crack repair or slab lifting and levelling at roughly 40 percent of the cost of a new concrete driveway.
Hidden Pricing and Slow Quotes
Contractors who will not publish rates and take a week to send a number leave you comparing guesses.
Every one of our 24 services has a published per-square-foot rate on the pricing page, and we reply to quote requests inside a 2-hour window.
Insurance, Permits and Warranty Doubts
Uninsured crews leave you exposed if something goes wrong, and permit questions get waved away.
WSIB Ontario coverage, $2M general liability, and permit guidance on every job, backed by a 2-year workmanship warranty in writing.

Local Concrete Knowledge You Can Trust
How We Work Across Toronto
Our crews stage from within the city, which is why we can hold a 2-hour response window on quote requests across all six former municipalities. Downtown and midtown jobs run off the Gardiner, DVP and Allen Road corridors, and we schedule pours around rush-hour restrictions so the truck is not sitting in traffic while the mix ages.
Narrow downtown laneways and semi-detached frontages need pump or wheelbarrow placement rather than a chute pour, and we quote that in up front instead of adding it later. On City right-of-way sidewalk sections we handle the permit guidance under the Toronto Municipal Code before any saw cutting starts.
Toronto Building Stock We Know
Pre-war semis and detached homes in Leslieville, the Danforth, the Junction and Bloor West Village sit on clay with cold-cellar porch slabs that spall from decades of salt. Those porches are the single most common repair call we take in the old city, and they almost always need the same sequence: sound the deck, stitch anything structural with carbon fibre, restore the coping, then bond an overlay across the surface.
Post-war North York bungalows and split-levels usually have wide single or double driveways poured on thin base, so they crack and settle early and respond well to foam lifting rather than replacement. East-end and west-end streets built through the 1950s and 1960s share that pattern, which is why lifting and crack repair make up a large share of what we do inside the city rather than new pours.
Downtown condo podiums, laneway suites and commercial storefronts bring the other half of the schedule: polished floors, saw-cut openings for plumbing and HVAC rough-ins, trench-drain apron rebuilds and small high-precision pours where a truck cannot reach and everything is placed by line pump or barrow.

What Toronto Customers Say
4.9 out of 5 across Google reviews
"Polished the concrete floor in our basement and it transformed the space. Dust was kept to a minimum and they finished in the days they promised."
"Our east-end porch had been crumbling for years. They stitched it, reset the coping and resurfaced the whole thing for less than a rebuild would have cost."
"Straight answer on the phone, quote in writing the same afternoon, and the driveway was poured the following week. No surprises on the invoice."
Concrete Questions From Toronto
How fast can you quote a concrete job in Toronto?
We answer the phone 24/7 and hold a 2-hour response window on quote requests across Toronto. For jobs under 500 sq ft, downtown, midtown, the east and west ends and North York, we can usually issue a same-day written quote at published rates.
Which Toronto neighbourhoods do you cover?
All of them. Downtown, midtown, the east end, the west end and North York are our core coverage, and Etobicoke and Scarborough are handled from the same dispatch. There is no travel surcharge anywhere inside the city.
Do I need a City of Toronto permit for my concrete work?
Like-for-like driveway, patio or step replacement generally does not need a building permit. A structural new porch, a change to the building footprint, or work in the City right-of-way such as a sidewalk section or curb cut usually does. We tell you which category your job falls into before we quote.
Why does concrete fail so often in Toronto?
Two reasons: clay subgrade that heaves and settles with moisture, and heavy winter road salt driving chloride into the surface. That combination causes the spalling, cracking and sinking we see most. Air-entrained concrete, a proper 6-inch granular A base and regular sealing are what push a slab to 30 years or more.
Can you work in downtown Toronto laneways and tight frontages?
Yes. Narrow lots, laneway suites and semi-detached frontages often need line-pump or wheelbarrow placement instead of a direct chute pour. We assess access on site and include the placement method in the written quote rather than adding it as an extra later.
Do you pour concrete in Toronto during winter?
Yes. We use Type 30 high-early cement, heated enclosures and insulated blankets so fresh concrete gains strength before it can freeze. Decorative stamping and staining are the two things we prefer to schedule for milder weather.
How much does a concrete driveway cost in Toronto?
Concrete driveways run $10 to $16 per sq ft installed across the city, so a typical two-car driveway of about 600 sq ft lands between roughly $6,000 and $9,600. Decorative finishes such as stamped borders or exposed aggregate cost more, and resurfacing a sound existing slab costs less. Those rates are published and the quote comes in writing before anyone starts.
Do you handle both residential and commercial concrete in Toronto?
Yes. Residential work across the city is driveways, porches, steps, patios and basement polishing. Commercial work is warehouse and retail floors, parking lots, loading docks, polished showrooms and repair programmes scheduled overnight so facilities keep operating. Both run off the same published rate card and the same 2-year workmanship warranty.
Can you polish the concrete floor in my Toronto basement?
Yes, and it is one of our most requested residential jobs in the city. Most basement slabs are already in reasonable condition, so grinding, densifying and polishing at $3 to $8 per sq ft gives you a finished floor without any covering. Every grinder runs on HEPA dust extraction because the work happens inside occupied homes.
