What Moves a Quote Inside the Range

Thickness & Reinforcement

A four-inch slab with wire mesh sits at the bottom of a range. Six inches with a 15M rebar grid sits at the top. Heavier loads mean more concrete and more steel.

Base Condition

Soft clay subgrade needing extra excavation, geotextile fabric or imported granular A adds cost before any concrete is ordered.

Removal & Disposal

Breaking out an existing slab and hauling it away is real labour and real tipping fees. It is itemised separately, never buried in the rate.

Finish

Broom finish is standard. Exposed aggregate, integral colour and stamped patterns move a job up the range, and are quoted per square foot on top.

Access

Backyards and laneway lots that cannot take a chute pour need a line pump or wheelbarrow placement. We price that in the quote rather than adding it later.

Season

Winter pours use Type 30 high-early cement, heated enclosures and insulated blankets. That adds cost, and we say so up front rather than declining the work.

Pricing Questions

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Toronto?

Concrete driveways in Toronto run $10 to $16 per sq ft installed, so a typical two-car driveway of about 600 sq ft lands between roughly $6,000 and $9,600. Decorative finishes cost more; resurfacing an existing slab costs less. We publish these rates and quote in writing with no hidden fees.

How much does 1,000 sq ft of concrete cost?

For plain installed concrete at $9 to $16 per sq ft, 1,000 sq ft costs roughly $9,000 to $16,000 depending on the application, thickness, and finish. Commercial flooring is lower per foot; stamped and decorative work is higher. We give an exact published-rate quote after measuring.

What is the average cost of a 20x20 concrete slab?

A 20x20 slab is 400 sq ft, so at typical rates it costs about $3,600 to $6,400 installed depending on thickness, reinforcement, and finish. Same-day quotes are available for jobs under 500 sq ft.

How much does concrete polishing cost per square foot?

Concrete polishing runs $3 to $8 per sq ft depending on the gloss level, the number of grinding passes, and whether dyes or densifiers are added. Larger commercial floors sit at the lower end. We publish these rates and quote in writing.

How much does concrete lifting cost vs replacement?

Lifting a sunken slab costs $6 to $12 per sq ft, often a fraction of full replacement. When the concrete itself is sound and only the base has settled, lifting is the smart choice. If the slab is cracked through or crumbling, replacement is better value long term.
